Pupils and students with a positive state of mental well-being will inevitably do better at school

It is obvious that people who are positive tend to have happier and more successful lives.  They are more pleasant to be with, so they get more friends.  Also, they tend to believe that with a spot of hard work and dedication they can get things done – and so they become more successful.

As a result, in the most general of terms, doors are far more likely to open for positive youngsters as they grow up than they ever are for people who lack that positive state of mind.

And yet, despite the enormous difference that a positive state of mind can have in terms of an individual’s attitude to life and work, the notion of a positive mental state is often ignored.

Of course, there is a good reason for that – as teachers we already have enough to do without thinking about the mental attitude of our pupils and students.

And indeed, helping those with a negative state of mind to become more positive is not generally part of our training when we become teachers.  So quite rightly we tend to back away from this area.

But it is something that can be addressed, not least because the negative state of mind of some pupils and students will combine with such emotions as anger, possibly a growing disregard for other people, and perhaps self-harm, none of which, of course, is desirable.

Support and funding

Fortunately, there are ways in which pupils and students who suffer from seemingly uncontrollable anger can be helped. Even better, there is funding available to help in work of this nature.

Indeed NLP4Kids has worked with over 100 UK schools to enable them to improve the lives of many children and families.

This includes 2 hours of fully funded practitioner support to every school that needs it with 30 days of access to an online platform of resources for a designated staff member.

If you would like to know about our work in terms of anger management or about any of the other areas in which we work (as shown below) please contact us by calling 0203 6677 294 to arrange to speak to a member of the head office team or email info@NLP4Kids.org

If emailing, please do let us know the particular area of our work in which you are interested.  You may like to know that in addition to mental well-being we also work with pupils and students who are facing issues related to…

  • Confidence Building
  • Overcoming Anxiety
